PROJECT RECORD
The group's three cold stores, totalling more than 18,000 m², use indirect cooling with Glacier secondary coolant. The installation has operated safely for years and resolved earlier safety and environmental concerns.
Liaoning Daily Agricultural Group is a private enterprise with operations spanning aquatic-product processing, seed breeding, farming, technology development, import-export trade and agricultural development. It is located in the Liaodong Bay area of the Liaohe River Delta.
The company operates three cold-storage facilities with a combined area of more than 18,000 m². All three use indirect cooling with Glacier secondary coolant, and the original project report states they have operated safely for many years, completely resolving earlier safety and environmental-protection concerns associated with the previous cooling arrangement.
Indirect cooling with a secondary refrigerant reduces the primary refrigerant charge to the machine room while circulating a safer fluid through the occupied and storage areas. This architecture is one of the principal drivers of secondary-coolant demand, particularly where ammonia or hydrocarbon primary refrigerants are used in proximity to food or personnel.
